Wolfe County Farm Field Day Highlights

The 2010 Wolfe County Farm Field Day was held at the site of the "Future Home of the Wolfe County Extension Service" which was formerly the Campton Hardware and Home Center on KY 15 North.
This was the 4th Annual Wolfe County Farm Field Day, the first was held back in the fall of 2007. This years event was sponsored by the Wolfe County Conservation and Dupont Chemical Company.
The entertainment for the evening -The Appalachian Troubadors.

Dr. Kenneth Seebold-University of Kentucky Extension Plant Pathologist was one of the 2 Agricultural Guest Speakers for the evening. Dr. Seebold presented material and tips on how to better plan your vegetable garden next year and avoid some of the damaging diseases we have seen in the 2010 Growing Season.
4-Hers got to Paint Pumpkins and Swing at a Pinata at the 2010 Wolfe County Field Day. Jessica Mullins Wolfe County Extension Service 4-H Agent worked with the youth of Wolfe County throughout the evening. The youth events culminated with a "Bust the Pinata" game at the end of the evening.

Sarah Fannin-Morgan County ANR Agent presented about Sweet Potato Production in Eastern Kentucky to the Wolfe County Farmers in attendance.
The food at the Wolfe County Farm Field Day is always a hit with participants. This year attendees had the choice of Soup Beans, Cornbread, Hot Dogs with or without chili, chips, cookies and soft drinks. The Wolfe County Extension Staff and volunteers prepared and served the meal.
At each Field Day, door prizes are awarded to winning participants. Door prize tickets are given out at the Registration Booth at the beginning of the evening and the prizes are given out at the end of the Field Day.
